Research Systems is pleased to announce the availability of IDL 5.2.1L
for Red Hat Linux 6.0. This special version of IDL is built to address
problems in the differences between versions 5.1 and 6.0 of Red Hat
Linux.
This special version of IDL 5.2.1 for Red Hat Linux 6.0 is available on
the "Download Software" section from the Research Systems Web site. Be
sure to select "Linux (2.2 x86 / Red Hat Linux 6.0)" as the platform.
IDL 5.2.1L provides a distribution of IDL 5.2.1 for Red Hat 6.0 (IDL
5.2.1 supported Red Hat 5.1). IDL 5.2.1L features an updated set of
binaries which enable users to take advantage of full IDL functionality
on Red Hat 6.0.
The updated binaries are packaged in two different forms: a full
distribution and an update release. Download the full distribution to
install a complete version of IDL 5.2.1L. Download the update to
replace binaries from an existing IDL 5.2.1 for Linux installation.
IDL 5.2.1L for Red Hat Linux 6.0 is available on the Download Software
section of the Research Systems Web site. Please note that IDL 5.2.1L
is not compatible with earlier versions of Red Hat Linux. Users with
Red Hat Linux versions 5.1 should use IDL 5.2.1, not IDL 5.2.1L.
