Welcome to my webpage

I am a graduate student in Theoretical Cosmology at the Department of Physics, University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA.

About me

123

A south-asian Indian by ethnicity, I hail from the capital city 'New Delhi' where I spent most of my formative years. I earned my Bachelors in Physics from Sri Sathya Sai Institute for Higher Learning, India followed by a Masters of Technology in Nuclear Sciences from the University of Delhi, India. During my Masters, I had the opportunity to spend an year in France at the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA-Saclay) for advanced studies in Theoretical Reactor Physics. Following my studies, I began my career as a research scientist at Institute for Plasma Research (IPR), India. During my time at IPR, I focused on the nuclear analysis for the sub-systems of the International Thermonuclear Energy Reactor's (ITER) and led the development of an in-house nuclear activation code named 'ACTYS'. In 2018, I took the next steps in my academic journey by joining University of Wisconsin-Madision's doctoral program. Here, I have been pursuing my passion for theoretical physics, with a particular focus on high energy, nuclear and cosmological sciences. I have the privilege of working closely with Prof. Daniel Chung on Theoretical Cosmology.

My current interests are axion cosmology, out-of-equilibrium systems in early-universe, isocurvature perturbations, inflation and primordial perturbations, study of large-scale structures, EFTofLSS based analysis, primordial black holes and gravitatoinal wave phenomenology.

Apart from my research activities, I teach introductory physics to engineering students as a "Teaching Assistant". In the past few years, I have taught courses on topics ranging from Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Waves and Optics. Other than conducting the discussion classes, I take immense interest in creating memory maps and extra problem sets for my students.

My hobbies include trekking/hiking, occasional painting, playing percussion instrument: tabla and often spending my after-hours enjoying a good game of squash, badminton or swimming. During the summers, I actively participate in the Madison Cricket League where I play the role of a medium fast bowler.
